Although perhaps it could be said that D’Alt Des Coll is fairly unexceptional from the outside, everything changes once you step through the doors and find yourself in this pretty, traditional, rustic restaurant in which the staff simply cannot do enough to help you.

Let yourself be seated and take in the views all around you. They are truly spectacular, and most likely the reason you are in the area of Soller in the first place. It is renowned for its stunning scenery and magical outlook. Mountains on one side and the sea on the other, D’Alt Des Coll has the best of both worlds, and all you need to do is sit and enjoy a good meal.

The food is just as great as the setting. There is a wide range of tapas to choose from, and plenty of opportunity to share dishes with a friend or loved one. If you prefer something other than tapas, there is also an a la carte menu, with a good choice available. Try food such as goats’ cheese salad, lamb ravioli, and finish off with some ice cream and homemade almond cake. Everything is made in the well stocked kitchen by excellent chefs. D’Alt Des Coll uses only locally sourced ingredients, so the menu changes throughout the year to reflect what is available. But whenever you go, you will find something delicious to eat.

The wine available at D’Alt Des Coll is also local, and this is the perfect place to sample fresh Mallorcan wines. It will be an experience to treasure, and it is even possible to purchase wine to take away with you, should you wish. Find a wine you particularly like and then have it at home once your holiday ends – it’s a fantastic way to remember your holiday. If you’re not sure which wine to choose, the staff will help you. The waiters and waitresses are well trained when it comes to pairing wines with food, and they will suggest the best combination for you.

The German owners, Annette and Frank, have run their restaurant for over four years now, and have honed it to a fine art. They will always be on hand to welcome weary travelers, and many people travel into the mountains specifically to eat at D’Alt Des Coll.

D’Alt Des Coll has a beautiful terrace on which you can sit and really take in the views that the area is so famous for. It’s worth calling ahead if you want to eat on the terrace, as this is the first place to go when people arrive for their wonderful and well earned food!

D’Alt Des Coll is open from 11am Tuesday to Sunday, and closes late on Fridays as it stays open for dinner. Every other day it is a lunch only restaurant, so make sure you arrive on time to be fed and watered well!

Situated just off the Born area of the Old Town of Palma in a wonderful old stone building. Although being in the heart of the tourist area of Palma, it is clear that many locals also dine here on a regular basis. It has a convivial atmosphere and the attentive staff are superb without being in your face. The menu has a leaning towards fish, but also offers a good variety of rice dishes, meat and vegetarian options.

The owner of the business, Mihail, will be well known to many residents and visitors to Palma, as he was formerly the front of house at C’an Eduardo, another well-known eatery above the fish market. Although he has only been open for two months, it seems that he already has a great following and seems set to make a big success of this new venture. He is a charming guy, very eager to please and speaks five languages which will no doubt be a great asset to his business.

For our starters I chose Calamares and my wife had Foie Gras Cake served with Calvados and peach. For our main courses I went for the Grilled Sole and Helen had the Cod served on a bed of mashed peas and bacon.

The starters were satisfactory, without being remarkable, but the Sole was the best I have ever had anywhere. Just plain grilled with a small amount of oil, it was sensational, and perfectly cooked. The cod was also excellent, served over mashed peas and bacon, an imaginative combination which worked really well .The quality of the main ingredients was of the highest standard. We have been disappointed too many times by substandard produce in so called good restaurants, so it was reassuring to sample some top notch fish here.

The menu offers a good selection of deserts, and are all beautifully presented. The wine list offers a good range of mainly Spanish / Mallorcan wines at sensible prices considering the restaurant’s location. We chose a local Macia Batle Reserva, one which was new to us, and thoroughly enjoyed every drop!

The Restaurant "Ca´n Cuarassa" is situated on the beach of the same name at the end of the beautiful Bay of Pollensa. It is one of the best preserved areas in the north of Mallorca, between Alcudia and the Port of Pollensa, and less than 3 km from this last town.

The Property has an extension of 5.000 m2, with a large garden surrounded by palm trees and tamariscs. During the summer months meals are served on its spacious terraces, some of them in the open air and others under cover. The main building, which is an old Majorcan house, offers during the rest of the year confortable lounges, with a subtle combination of autoctonous decorative elements, contemporary art an attractive chimney corner and breath taking sea views. An ample and well balanced menu, with Mediterranean flavour, based on local market produce, includes among other starters a great variety of fresh pasta, and also fish and meat dishes of excellent quality prepared on a charcoal grill.
